Who Wants to Be a Millionaire fans furious as player gambles £32k on wrong answer

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire fans were furious after a contestant lost £32k on a whim.

Peter was hoping to win big and buy his family a house in London.

He started off strong, only using his first lifeline when he reached £16,000.

But things soon derailed when he lost lifelines on a question about Grand National 2019 winner Tiger Roll.

Fortunately, he managed to make his way to £64k, but no longer had any lifelines.

He was then asked to name the first charity founded in the UK.

Not knowing the answer, the lawyer said he was only on the show "once" and took a massive gamble.

He answered Salvation Army, only to find out the correct answer was RSPCA.

The wrong decision meant Peter lost his £64k and went away with £32,000.

Viewers were furious at his flippant guess and couldn't understand why he didn't just take the £64k.

Ben tweeted: "Why would you risk 32k when you've no idea what the answer is."

Ash said: "Never fails to amaze me how easily people will throw away £32k."

And Craig wrote: "Ouch I bet that hurt."

Host Jeremy Clarkson told Peter not to be too disheartened and said he was a great player.
