Who Wants to Be a Millionaire crowns first jackpot winner in six years

  • Retired IT analyst Roman Dubowski became the seventh contestant to win the £1 million jackpot on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, ending a six-year period without a top prize winner.
  • Dubowski successfully answered all 15 questions posed by host Jeremy Clarkson, who praised him as 'an encyclopaedia in a shirt', despite having a near miss at the £1,000 mark.
  • He managed to reach the final question with two lifelines remaining, having previously applied twice unsuccessfully to appear on the popular ITV quiz show.
  • Dubowski is the second millionaire crowned during Jeremy Clarkson's tenure as host, following Donald Fear's win in 2020, with five previous winners during the Chris Tarrant era.
  • ITV has also announced that a second contestant from the current series is scheduled to win the full cash prize next month, which will bring the total number of millionaires on the show to eight.
