Who Wants to be a Millionaire: Alex Beresford wins incredible amount for Bristol charity

Alex Beresford won an incredible amount of money for a Bristol charity when he starred in tonight's special celebrity Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

The presenter and weatherman sailed through his first question on pastries and had no problem with his second one on rodents.

But he revealed his hands were sweating by the time he reached £1,000.

It was a question on tennis that forced him to use his first lifeline.

And Alex was left stumped again on the topic of Saturday Night Fever, when Jeremy Clarkson helped him reach £16,000 before they ran out of time.

The star was raising money for Bristol's Empire Fighting Chance, a spokesperson tweeted: "Good luck Alex. Thanks again for all the support , it makes a massive difference."

Alex said it was a 'great charity' which he is an ambassador for.

Jimmy Carr was also on the celebrity special show. But the funnyman only won £1,000 after dropping down from £32,000, which quizmaster Jeremy Clarkson was very critical about.
