Who Tottenham should keep in the January transfer window - and it's not Christian Eriksen

Tottenham and Jose Mourinho have some big decisions to make ahead of the January transfer window.

The likes of Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose have all been linked with departures amid contract uncertainty.

This has led to plenty of speculation and it was something which had seemed to impact Tottenham's start to the season before Mauricio Pochettino was sacked.

Mourinho has since taken over at Spurs and improved the club's form but it remains to be seen what happens to those much-talked about stars who could leave next month.

Spurs fans all have their own opinions on which players they should keep or sell and now former star striker Darren Bent has added his thoughts to the mix.

"I think Danny Rose is a player they should try and keep," Bent, who was speaking on behalf of GentingBet, told football.london.

"They need to convince him to stay. He is one of the best left-backs out there but it's about getting him onside. He is young enough that they can still get the best out of him."

On Eriksen, Bent added: "The situation with Eriksen for instance should be sorted out sooner rather than later.

"He will leave or sort out his contract situation. He has resigned himself to leaving it seems."
