Who scored for Rangers B against Partick Thistle in Glasgow Cup? FIVE different scorers blow experienced Jags away

Rangers B blew Partick Thistle away in the Glasgow Cup with five different scorers proving too much to handle for the Jags.

David McCallum's young team lead the way in the Lowland League and were out to kick off their defence of the trophy against a Thistle side mixed between senior pros and youngsters. First team players David Mitchell, Scott Tiffoney, Tunji Akinola and Ross Docherty were among the starters as was highly-rated Gallagher Lennon - son of Celtic hero Neil.

Despite the disparity in experience, though, it was Rangers who ran riot with a convincing 5-1 win. Tony Weston, fresh back from a loan spell at Thistle, struck a magical opener before Zak Lovelace doubled the lead just five minutes later. Charlie Lindsay added a third before the break and after Jack Harkness pulled one back for the Jags, Robbie Ure and James Graham added to a resounding win which was aided after Jags skipper Docherty was shown a red card at 4-1.

Speaking after the game, B-team boss McCallum said: "I thought it was a strong performance. It's taken Tony's special goal to get us on our way but we controlled the game and created a lot of opportunities.

"Zak's goal is a lovely goal that Johnly (Yfeko) sets into his path, combination play allows Charlie in for his. Then the second half, the substitutes made a difference with Robbie getting his goal and James Graham coming off the side of the box and passing it into the corner. Good variation and a good spread of the goals as well."
