Who's recruiting: Customer service jobs at Amazon

Call centre: Online retailer Amazon is creating hundreds of new jobs in Scotland this year. The firm will fill 500 permanent and 400 temporary positions at a new customer service centre opening in Edinburgh this August, reports Sky News. The centre will handle customer queries for the group and technical support for its e-book reader, Kindle, and its MP3 services, according to the BBC.

Graduate/IT: International IT services provider FDM Group is recruiting 100 new candidates for its Manchester-based graduate training programme. Positions are available in project management, development, testing, infrastructure and application support. The graduates will be trained for around 12 weeks before being placed with one of the company's clients, which include HSBC, Virgin Media, Barclays and Deutsche Bank.

Hospitality: A new Hilton hotel opening close to Heathrow's Terminal Five will create 200 jobs. Jobs available include positions in sales, human resources, reservations, maintenance, housekeeping and front office operations. The airport hotel is opening on 31 August this year, reports Skyport Heathrow.

Banking: Deutsche Bank is moving its entire European hedge fund administration operation to Dublin, creating dozens of new jobs. The German bank plans to create a centre of excellence for hedge funds in the city's International Financial Services Centre. Deutsche Bank will recruit between 75 and 100 employees by the end of the year, according to RTÉ News.

Engineering: Up to 200 new jobs are planned after an engineering firm signed a £50million contract with Russia's leading truck builder. The GT Group in County Durham plans to increase its workforce from 300 to 500 in the next three years. The new roles include opportunities for highly skilled engineers, reports the Sunderland Echo.

Technology: Online security company McAfee is to creating 30 new jobs in Ireland, reports Silicon Republic. The new positions in Cork will offer software engineers the opportunity to work in the area of creating security technologies in the fight against cyber crime, according to the company. Recruitment for the positions has begun, reports RTÉ News.

Aviation: A new aircraft maintenance centre will create 50 jobs at Birmingham Airport. Eurojet Aviation, an aircraft management, charter and maintenance company, plans to recruit as many people locally as possible for the new roles. Advertisements will be placed in local and trade press soon, reports the Birmingham Mail. The company plans to start the work on the new centre in early July.
