Netflix’s next blockbuster series looks set to be a sci-fi epic, with an international cast led by Oscar winner Hilary Swank.
Away, which premieres on the streaming service on September 4, stars Swank as an astronaut named Emma Green who commands an international crew heading to Mars.
Green leaves behind her husband and teenage daughter for the treacherous three-year trip, testing their bonds and pushing her to the edge.
Created by Penny Dreadful writer Andrew Hinderaker, the series includes a cast of actors from around the world.

Israeli-Ukranian actor Mark Ivanir plays Misha Popov, a Russian cosmonaut and engineer on the same journey to Mars.
His character is described as having a big ego as the most experienced crew member on the trip, but hides the personal sacrifices he made for the journey.
Ato Essandoh
American actor Ato Essandoh plays Dr. Kwesi Weisberg-Abban, a British-Ghanian botanist who hopes to foster life on Mars.
