Who Rangers could face in Europa League playoff round as Steven Gerrard awaits potential Battle of Britain

Rangers could face Tottenham in a Europa League Battle of Britain after they were put in the same grouping for the playoff draw.

It could be a huge one-off game if the Ibrox side beat Willem II next week in the Netherlands.

Spurs scraped through the second qualifying round with a 2-1 win over nine-man Lokomotiv Plovdiv on Thursday night, but they are set to add Gareth Bale to their squad ahead of the next round.

They take on Macedonian side Shkendija in the third round and one of those teams could come up against Steven Gerrard's men in the playoff.

Hagi Jnr was born in Istanbul while Gheorghe was running riot in Turkey in the late 1990s and could end up going up against them in the playoff.

The Turkish outfit face Hadjuk Split of Croatia in the third qualifying round.

Rangers might be hoping for one of the other two ties in the group.

Belgian side Standard Liege going up against Serbian outfit Vojvodina while Apoel Nicosia of Cyprus take on Bosnian club Zrinjski.

The Ibrox side will be hoping for a home time in the playoff after trips to Gibraltar on Thursday night and then Holland next week.

Shkëndija (Macedonia) or Tottenham (England)
