Who left The Apprentice last night and what is next week's task?

Alan Sugar teased a double firing during episode eight of The Apprentice.

As the contestants battled it out to stay in the show and get one step closer to Lord Sugar's investment, viewers saw the standard cat fights break out in the boardroom.

But in the end the famous businessman, 64, only fired one contestant.

However, in a twist to the usual format, he called all four members of the losing team into the boardroom.

He made it clear he blamed them all for their failure in the week's task - hosting a corporate away day at Silverstone Formula One race track.

The business tycoon has two accomplices to aid in his decision making, who both shared his disappointment with all four members of the losing team.

But in the end he opted to fire one candidate in particular for their disappointing showings throughout all eight weeks.

Who left The Apprentice last night?

Nick Showering, 31, became the latest contestant to fall victim to Lord Sugar's pointed finger and "You're fired" slogan.

The finance manager opened up about his experience in an Instagram post, saying: "I leave the process knowing I can’t dance or cook, but can have a bit of fun. What a ride. Loved every second of it. Gutted not to go further. I gave it everything."

What is next week's task?

Next week, the candidates left in the competition will be selling goods on an online shopping channel in a one-hour prime time TV spot.

They will have to master how to be personable for an online audience, as well as having knowledge on screen.

Watch the next episode on BBC One on Thursday, March 3. The Apprentice is also available on iPlayer.
