Who is the woman referee for England v Andorra tonight?

Kateryna Monzul becomes the first woman to referee an England senior men's match when she takes charge of the Three Lions' World Cup qualifier with Andorra on Saturday.

Monzul will be at the heart of an all-female line-up of officials at the Estadi Nacional, alongside fellow Ukrainians Maryna Maryna Striletska and Svitlana Grushko as assistant referees.

France's Stephanie Frappart, the first woman to officiate a men's Champions League match, is the woman on VAR duties.

Monzul has been overseeing international fixtures for over 16 years, and was the first woman to take charge of a senior men's international game when she officiated the Nations League clash between San Marino and Gibraltar back in 2020.

On that occasion, she showed a red card to San Marino's Davide Simoncini, with the match itself ending goalless.

In March, she also took charge of Austria’s World Cup qualifying win against the Faroe Islands, just a day after colleague Frappert officiated the clash between the Netherlands and Latvia.

Speaking at the time, legendary Italian referee Pierluigi Collina, who is now chairman of FIFA's referees committee, said: "FIFA will continue to champion the development of female refereeing and I'm confident that the appointment of female match officials to men's games will be absolutely commonplace in the future."

In England, female officials are also making inroads.

Rebecca Welch became the first female Football League referee when she oversaw the League Two clash between Harrogate Town and Port Vale earlier this year, while Sian Massey-Ellis has been a regular on the touchlines of the Premier League for the last 10 years.
