Who is the Britain's Got Talent magician Ben Hart who made a woman teleport across the stage?

A magician left Simon Cowell stunned on Britain's Got Talent after turning a tiny piece of confetti into a real-life egg right before his eyes and making a woman appear to teleport across the stage.

Ben Hart, from London, wowed judges on Britain's Got Talent on Saturday May 11 with an act that defied all reasoning. His opening trick was to make an egg appear out of nothing, which he then followed up with by making a random member of the audience seemingly transport across the BGT stage between two locked cages.

The 28-year-old entertainer walked away with four resounding yeses, with judge Aleesha Dixon saying: "That's just done my head in."

Yet it's not the first time Mr Hart has shown his work to famous faces - earlier this year he worked on the set of Game of Thrones , and has even taught Ian Mckellan a few tricks when the actor played Gandalf in Lord of The Rings.

The professional magical advisor is known in the world of theatre to film as the go-to man for impossible illusions, from decapitation to levitation.

Work has included helping Maisie Williams be part of a magic trick where one of the actors was apparently sucked into her stomach on GOT, and teaching Star Wars actor Jon Boyega how to vomit on stage.

Despite his slick performance in front of the four judges, Mr Hart, who calls himself a 'magic-inventor', was not always sure BGT was for him.

Back in 2015, he spoke out about how he and four other magic acts had apparently been 'begged' to audition for the ITV series. Snubbing the talent show for their own BBC Three programme, Killer Magic, Mr Hart told The Sun that BGT bosses had repeatedly asked them to audition for the judges.

Since 2015, he has had fleeting appearances on shows including kids show Life Hacks Hoax and BBC’s Now You See Me.

Now, he has decided it's time to up his game and believes the 13th series of BGT is the way to bring to life the dream he’s had since he was a child.

Brought up in Winchester, Mr Hart was fascinated by all things magic and by the age of eight, was buying equipment and tricks by mail and in shops.

By his early teens he was earning money for magic gigs, and aged just 16, he won the Magic Circle’s Young magician of the Year Award.
