When wedding dress shopping, you expect a multitude of feelings to accompany the process. Anticipation over whether you’ll find the one, excitement over the big day, nervousness over the price tag, perhaps. But what you don’t expect, however, is to look back at that day with a sense of dread. One bride-to-be wasn’t so lucky after she looked back at the photos of her trying on dresses, only to feel a chill creep up her spine.
In a viral clip, TikToker Anix (@anixmosity) shared a pair of photos she took while trying on wedding dresses. In one of them, she zooms in on the reflection in the mirror behind her. A dark-haired woman’s head is clearly visible, watching Anix. In the other photo, the mirror is empty.
Anix wrote in the on-screen text, “Going through my wedding dresses I tried [on.] Who is that? No other brides were there but me.”
She added further context in the caption, writing, “I was showing one of my bridesmaids and she pointed out the woman in the background. I was confused because the bride who was in the stall behind me left before I started trying on dresses and she look way different than that woman. I was the only one at the time in a wedding dress [crying emoji] and they don’t have heads on their mannequins.”
Viewers were just as creeped out as her
Anix’s clip, which earned over 342,000 views, had several viewers hiding in the comments section. One even pointed out how the mysterious woman looked like Anix, who also had dark hair. Another speculated that perhaps it was the reflection of a poster on the wall. Some pointed out other chilling details, like the fact that the woman appeared tall enough to touch the ceiling.
A few viewers tried to offer logical explanations.
“Here me out here, but there was another woman there,” one speculated. “You just weren’t paying attention and she was in a different area not visible to you right there.”
Another added, “Lol it’s probably just a poster/ad on the wall that was in the angle of the mirror.”

Did she ever figure out who it was?
In an Instagram direct message with the Mary Sue, Anix clarified that the video was not staged, and she still doesn’t know who it was.
“I was in the store as the only bride at the time, last I know,” she said. “The other bride that was there before left before trying on [my] dress, also she did not look like that at all. “
Anix said both she and her fiancé were “spooked” and she worried whether “something might have followed [her] home.”
However, she said she’s only had a little bad luck “here and there.”
“Me and my fiancé mysteriously chipped our tooth at the same time, which was strange,” she said. “But I don’t know if that’s related.”
Anix continued that the comments “freaked” her out, while others gave her good advice. She addressed the theories that the woman was just a poster, but she said there were no posters like that when she went. As for the folks who accused her of making the story up, Anix said she wished she were lying.
“The whole thing gave me a scary feeling,” she wrote. “When I go down in my basement to do laundry, I’m always looking over my shoulder.”
She plans to return to the store with her fiancé to debunk the incident. Until then, viewers are left to ponder who the mysterious woman could be.
