Who is Ste Brown? Dublin teen rapper breaks silence after smash-hit 'Noggin' goes viral

Young Dublin rapper Ste Brown has become an overnight sensation after the enormous success of his song 'Noggin'.

He broke his silence this morning for the first time since the video went viral with an interview on local radio, explaining the origins behind his smash-hit, Dublin Live reports.

And the 13-year-old, also known by his YouTube username The Brown Lad, has been hailed as Dublin's answer to Tupac, leaving many wanting to find out more.

A flow so unusual hasn't been this hyped about since Eazy-E told listeners that he was cruising down the street in his 64.

But you wouldn't catch Ste dead in a Chevrolet Impala, he has high taste and nothing less than a Lamborghini will do, inspiring the iconic main line of the song "you would never drive a lambo/come to my gaff if you want a saussy sambo".

But he revealed to FM104 that saussy sambos are not his favourite food, unleashing the mysterious but delicious sounding chip baguette from his local chip shop onto the world.

He also told them about his plans for the future and even started his first rap beef, picking on fellow Nogginer musician Dustin The Turkey.

He said: "I posted the video up on Instagram and when I woke up in the morning it had 150,000 views and it made the radio. Mad man.

"I've always been rapping but started properly around second year. I bought a keyboard and started doing beats on it. Posted the music on Instagram and I've been growing followers since."

When told that the last person to come out of the Noggin and make music was Dustin The Turkey, the confident music maestro simply said "who?".

"Never heard of him. I'll look him up now in a minute", he said, not one bit phased by his local rival competition.

The Brown Lad has cemented the fact that he will never forget where he comes from, lacing his first track with shout outs to San Siro (the local chipper) and The Upper Room Barber.

And he wouldn't be the person he is without the solid crew he plays sloggins and hangs out in Honey Park with behind him.

He continued: "I don't have a gang. I do music by myself but me and the boys float out every day down in the Noggin."

"Honey Park is close to the Noggin. We sometimes go down there because it has swings and we love swinging. It is kinda the posh part, it's a two minute walk from the Noggin though."

And as for the famous chipper that features in the song, well there's only one thing to order from there and it is strange but glorious.

"San Siro is tops. I recommend the curry chip baguette rolls. You eat the roll with the chips on it. Oh yes it is divine."

He is eyeing up a future of performing at gigs and has said that he hasn't time to be thinking about school.

"I'd love to do a gig, be on stage and all. It would be class."

"I can't make any new beats though at the moment. My computer keeps on crashing. I'm going to bring it back."

Talking about school, he finished: "I'm going to say 'Ma, I'm the Brown Lad. I make music, I don't do Leaving Cert', something along those lines. [When my first record goes platinum] I'll buy her a gaff in the Noggin and a holiday home in Spain."
