Who is sinister Emmerdale newcomer Greg and where do we recognise him from?

Emmerdale fans have been left irritated by the arrival of sinister newcomer Greg after he made his debut in the village, but who plays him and where do we recognise him from?

Greg first burst on to our screens when he was invited round for dinner at Ethan and Marcus’ place but the new arrival certainly hasn't gone down well with viewers.

The young lawyer, who is one of Ethan's bosses, had the intention of getting in with the partners of the firm, however things took a nose dive when he tried his luck with an unreceiving Marcus.

Ethan took his partner's word for what had happened and sent Greg packing, but will the pair face a backlash from the dodgy businessman?

Greg is played by actor Daniel Betts, he is best recognised for his role in popular Netflix series, Sex Education, where he played the role of Sergeant Morris for one episode in 2020.

He also starred as a regular in Fate: The Winx Saga, as well as holding roles in several other TV shows including The Crown, Gentleman Jack, The Bill and The Fixer to name a few.

Daniel Betts was born in 1971 in Cuckfield, West Sussex. He trained under at the Drama Centre in London, graduating in 1993.

As well as his many TV roles, Daniel's varied career has also included many roles on the British and International stage, as well as film work including Fury and the upcoming Brad Pitt films War Machine and Allied. And his talent's don't stop there, Daniel is also a voiceover artist working on various adverts over the years.

And while he has built an army of fans for his many roles, Daniel's current persona of Emmerdale's Greg has certainly not gained him any brownie points.

Fans of the soap have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the newcomer. One viewer @Chris1968E penned: "Others have/will come forward to say sleazy solicitor boss Greg tried it on with them & he'll get bounced. Hopefully it doesn't end up he becomes a regular character cos there's enough t***ts in that tiny village."

@ladychloe89 tweeted: "Creepy Greg #emmerdale", while @davidmackay agreed: "Greg is so creepy, and @domain_harry fumed: "This Greg geezer looks a right sick f***."

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV1.
