Who is Shirley Ballas in Strictly Come Dancing 2019?

She is dubbed the 'Queen of Latin dancing' but Shirley Ballas is also the head of the panel on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.

The ballroom and Latin dancer replaced Strictly favourite Len Goodman in 2017 and has settled in to life alongside panel mates Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli.

Shirley, from Wallasey, has a string of accolades to her name making her one of the top and most decorated professional dancers in the world.

The 59-year-old is three-time 'British Open to the World' Latin American Champion, 10-time United States Latin American Champion, and multiple-times British National Champion - phew.

It all started at her first dance class at the age of seven and by the age of 21, she had won nearly every major title that she had competed in.

And it seems she has passed on the dancing bug as her son Mark Ballas is also an international dancer and a dance coach.

The judge recently hit the headlines after she want public with new boyfriend Danny Taylor, 47.

The dance veteran said the pair of smitten and during an interview earlier this month on This Morning, Shirley said that marriage wasn't off the cards.
