Who Is Scottie Scheffler's Wife? Meet Meredith Scudder

Scottie Scheffler, Meredith and Bennett pose with the Memorial Tournament trophy in 2025.

After being named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2020, Scottie Scheffler has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the game, racking up multiple wins on the circuit, rising to World No.1 and landing three Majors.

While his career on the course has been spectacular, Scheffler seems to be a happy man off it, too, and in 2020 he married his girlfriend of six years, Meredith Scudder.

Scheffler attended Highland Park High School in Texas, where he would meet and date Scudder, and it was at the school that his future-wife realized just how talented Scheffler was after seeing him in a commercial.

"I won the US Junior in 2013 and in 2014 I had the opportunity to play in the Byron Nelson as a high school student," Scheffler recalled to the media ahead of the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions.

He continued: "I was at (Meredith's) house one day, we were hanging out with her dad or something, and the commercial came on TV. And she was kind of looking around. She was like, 'Wait a minute, isn't that next weekend? Isn't that what you're doing?'"

Speaking to Golf Digest about her early impression of Scheffler, Meredith said: "At the beginning of high school I always thought he had a super humble ambiance about him, that he was just a really down-to-earth guy that doesn’t take himself too seriously.

“Even when he had amazing accomplishments, that wasn’t the most important thing about him.”

However, as the pair set themselves up for University, Scheffler attended the University of Texas, while Scudder headed to Texas A&M.

While at university, Scudder also had a brief internship in Zambia but, despite the long distance, the couple remained together and, in June 2020, Scheffler popped the question to Scudder while out on hiking at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve.

Posting on Instagram, Scudder wrote: “YES! I can’t believe God gave me my best friend to spend the rest of my life with, can’t wait to be your wife, Scottie!!!! Blown away at the Lord’s faithfulness and goodness to us. [LET’S] DO THIS!!”

The pair married at Arlington Hall in Dallas on December 4, 2020 before enjoying a Winter Wonderland-themed event with their invited guests.

Meredith is the director of curating opportunities at Behind Every Door (BED), a non-profit organization that provides sports, educational and creative programs for the youth in underdeveloped neighborhoods in the Dallas area.

She said: "Learning how BED goes about empowering kids and families to overcome poverty and build up their communities has been amazing. We love how relational it is and that the heart behind everything they do is the gospel. That is important to Scottie and me, as well."

Meredith is also a regular at Scheffler's events and has caddied for him on more than one occasion at The Masters Par-3 Contest.

At the 2024 edition of the Major, Scheffler's sister took on the honors because Meredith was heavily pregnant with the couple's first child - a situation that the eventual winner of the Green Jacket vowed would see him withdraw if she went into labor during the tournament.

In the end, she gave birth to a son, Bennett, around a month later, on May 8, by which time Scottie had also gone on to win the RBC Heritage.

It wasn't all joy and tranquility for the Scheffler family in 2024, though, with controversy in the form of Scottie's arrest at the PGA Championship in May.

However, charges against him were eventually dropped, and, just over a week later, Meredith was once again at Scheffler's side, along with their baby son, after Scheffler claimed victory at the Memorial Tournament.

Just a few weeks after that, Meredith and Bennett were again in attendance as Scheffler racked up yet another win, this time at The Travelers Championship. They have continued to appear at most of Scheffler's wins, including the 2024 Tour Championship and the 2025 PGA Championship.

Ahead of the 2025 Open Championship, Scheffler admitted he would "give it all up" for Meredith and his son if his ability to be a good father and husband was affected by his life as a golfer.

Scheffler said: “This is not the most important thing in my life. “I'd much rather be a great father than I would be a great golfer. At the end of the day, that's what's more important to me."

“I love being a father. I love being able to take care of my son. I love being able to provide for my family out here playing golf. That's why I talk about family being my priority because it really is.

“But if my golf ever started affecting my home life or it ever affected the relationship I have with my wife or my son, that's going to be the last day that I play out here for a living.”

Given his and Meredith's seemingly rock-solid relationship and how much they both mean to each other, she seems sure to be by Scottie's side as his career goes from strength to strength.
