Who is Sam Mather? Manchester United's Champions League squad addition who loves Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United fans love an exciting winger and Sam Mather perfectly fits that mould.

Mather, who just turned 17 in September, made his debut for United's U18s last season and that early promise has been rewarded with four appearances for the Reds' U23s in the Premier League 2 this term while he's also featured in the UEFA Youth League campaign.

The Salford-born lad made headlines in August when he used Cristiano Ronaldo's trademark 'SIU' celebration against Leeds' U18s.

Mather was added to United's senior Champions League squad on Tuesday night, but ahead of Mather potentially making his senior debut against BSC Young Boys on Wednesday, who is the youngster?

Name: Sam Mather

Date of birth: September 3 2004

Position: Left-wing

Nationality: English

Career history: Mather has risen through United's academy and he's played for England's U18s this season.

Mather signed his first professional contract at the club in September.
