Who is Ronan Kelleher? Everything you need to know about the Ireland and Leinster star

Andy Farrell has included a few players for Saturday's Six Nations opener against Scotland who might be unfamiliar names to Ireland rugby fans.

The new head coach has handed uncapped Caelan Dorris his first Ireland start for the fixture, which kicks off at the Aviva Stadium at 4:45pm.

Ronan Kelleher could also earn his first cap for Ireland, having been named on the replacements bench.

Here are the key details about Kelleher.

How old is he?

Kelleher - who is the brother of Leinster back Cian - turned 21 on January 24.

Where is he from?

Kelleher was born in Dublin and attended schools rugby powerhouse St. Michael's College.

What position does he play?

Hooker is Kelleher's position. He started out as a back, but eventually moved through the positions settled in the No 2 role as a 16-year-old.

Which province does he play for?

Kelleher lines out for Leinster and has made 10 appearances to date for the province.

Has he played for Ireland before?

The Blues hooker first entered the Ireland underage setup at under-18 level and starred for the Under-20s in the U-20 World Cup and Six Nations.

He has yet to make an appearance for the senior side, but that could be set to change this weekend.
