Nottingham Forest are said to be close to agreeing a deal for Strasbourg striker Nuno da Costa.
The 28-year-old was touted as a possible option for the Reds last week, but an injury looked to have put paid to a departure from France.
However, that hasn't stopped French newspapers saying he is now closing in on a move to Sabri Lamouchi's Premier League promotion-chasers.
The Reds want to add another striker to their ranks to help out Lewis Grabban, the club's only senior striker.
Esteemed Championship strikers Glenn Murray and Dwight Gayle have been linked with a move to the City Ground too, but they could be expensive additions.
Reds fans could be forgiven for being underwhelmed by rumours linking them with da Costa.
Compared to Murray and Gayle, he would be a huge risk given he has no experience of the Championship and the rigours of the second tier of English football.
Born in Cape Verde and raised in Portugal, da Costa has been capped by Cape Verde once.
He began his career with Aubagne, scoring 28 goals in 88 games before joining Valenciennes after four years.
Following 45 appearances for the Athenians he transferred to Strasbourg in 2017.
The centre forward has two goals in all competitions this season, making 20 appearances including just four league starts.
In 135 career appearances, da Costa has scored 36 goals.
