Who is Nora Fatehi? The actress singing at World Cup opening ceremony

It is finally here - the World Cup in Qatar starts today.

Despite domestic football finishing just last weekend, we are now in full-on international mode with the tournament beginning this afternoon just outside the country's capital, Doha.

Hosts Qatar face Ecuador in the opening game and there will be the traditional opening ceremony beforehand.

BTS' K-pop superstar Jeon Jungkook and Robbie Williams will perform before the game, with Canadian actress Nora Fatehi set to sing the official World Cup song "Light The World".

Thirty-year-old Fatehi is best known for her work in the Indian film industry, while also appearing on a number of reality TV shows. Although born in Toronto she says she feels "an Indian at heart".

Her most notable break came in 2018 when she featured in the recreated version of the song Dilbar - she eventually went on to become the first African-Arab female artist to have a song hit one billion views on YouTube.

She can also list modelling and dancing on her CV.

In October of this year she was chosen to perform the official theme for the competition.
