Who is Nikki Grahame and how did she die as Channel 4 releases new documentary about her life

A new Channel 4 documentary will be aired on the channel on Thursday night, telling the powerful story of the late Nikki Grahame's fight with anorexia.

Airing at 9pm, this documentary showcases the struggle former Big Brother star Nikki had with her body image, as it was a ongoing journey she experienced from a young age.

The documentary will be a celebration of Grahame, showing home videos and archived stories of her life outside of her Big Brother fame.

Exclusive interviews with the star's loved ones including her mother and close friends will be featured in the programme alongside tributes from celebrity work friends.

Nikki Grahame is most well known for appearing on series 7 of Channel 4's reality TV show, Big Brother in 2006, where she was known for her iconic phrase "Who is she?"

Nikki returned to the show for the Ultimate Big Brother in 2010 after becoming an overnight sensation.

Grahame would be a regular feature on the extra show, Big Brother's Bit on the Side and also went on to front her own series, Princess Nikki on E4.

Grahame died in 2021 at the age of 37 from an eating disorder. The TV personality had battled with anorexia and bulimia.

Channel 4 also released a statement, saying: "Feisty, volatile and unapologetic, she was an inspiration to millions - and when Nikki uttered her immortal line on Big Brother: 'Who IS she?! Who IS she?!', she became a TV legend.

"Behind the bright and funny media persona, Nikki was a complex woman who bravely battled anorexia for over 30 years.

"Her illness reached crisis point during the UK’s third national lockdown and, tragically, Nikki lost her fight for life on Friday 9th April 2021."

Nikki Grahame: Who is She? can be viewed this Thursday April 7, on Channel 4 from 9pm.
