Who is Nick Knowles' brother – and how did DIY SOS host become famous?

Nick Knowles is back on British TV screens, fronting the latest series of DIY SOS. Nick, 59, is a popular presenter believed to be close to his family, including brother John.

Nick, who likes to keep his private life as quiet as he can, has revealed he once sought help from his brother when he hit difficulties in his personal life. He also has three sisters, Angela, Sheila and Karen.

The presenter is no stranger to emotional moments, fronting the BAFTA award-winning DIY show, which is now back show is back with some incredible transformations and crazy home renovations. The show returned on May 10 on BBC iPlayer.

Nick Knowles brother is a musician named John who has been performing since 1976.

The guitarist is reported to play a "mixture of genres including pop, blues, reggae and classic rock", according to The Sun and has his own album 'Uncovered' released in 2017.

The two are believed to be close enough for Nick to turn to him for counselling in times of need, such a when he split from ex-wife Jessica Moor.

The two separated in 2016, but Nick supported her through her battle with cervical cancer.

Nick told The Mirror: "I did really go through it emotionally. Jess was really, really unwell. All those things are hugely difficult but I always had people to talk to who are close to me.

"When I come under extreme stress, I spend time with my older brother John, who has had counselling training."

Nick Knowles is best known for his roles as the presenter of DIY SOS and Who Dares Wins on the BBC.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the presented has a whopping fortune of £7.5 million and has appeared on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, pocketing a reported £200,000.

From Southall, London, the presenter is also known for fronting shows like Real Rescues and has four children.

He was first married in the 1990s to a woman named Gillian with whom he had two children and married his second wife Jessica Knowles in 2012, sharing one child with her.

Another child was born with former partner Paula Beckett.

For the new series in the role he is most famous for, Nick said: "So many people turned out to help communities and families in need despite their own challenges and suppliers have been so generous – It’s been really life affirming.

"DIY SOS has always been about helping each other which for me was also the story of lockdown, so this is a celebration of people’s fortitude and generosity. We live in a hugely generous society and it’s good to be reminded of that in amongst all the bad news we’ve all had to endure.”
