Who is Newcastle United's Player of the Season? Our ten contenders, and we want you to vote

Newcastle United have secured safety with three games to go – a satisfactory finish to a rollercoaster season on Tyneside.

United went the first three months of the campaign without winning a game but have secured some memorable wins since the turn of the year. They are the only team to take a point off Man City since late December and also downed Leicester on their own patch – while a superb Miguel Almiron debut against Huddersfield also quickened the pulse.

But who has been the stand-out star for you? We have picked out the ten leading contenders – and we want to ask for your votes.

Martin Dubravka

Another excellent campaign for the goalkeeper – who has recovered from slip-ups against Spurs and Manchester United to return to form.

Fabian Schar

Not only added attacking intent from defence, but also excelled in the back four too. A fine bargain addition in the summer.

Jamaal Lascelles

Newcastle skipper has enjoyed another good campaign, overcoming initial difficulties with the three-at-the-back formation.

Paul Dummett

Mr Consistency is finally gaining the plaudits he deserves. His goalline clearance at Bournemouth was massive.

Salomon Rondon

Nine goals so far, he has been a worthy recipient of the Newcastle number nine shirt. On loan but Rafa Benitez wants to make it permanent.

Ayoze Perez

Forward is finishing the season with a flourish and his hat-trick against Southampton was the latest sign he is a player in form.

Sean Longstaff

Only a short period in the first time but arguably a season-transforming run. Became a fixture in the side.

Matt Ritchie

Another great season for the winger, who has been converted into a wing-back this term. The all-action midfielder is a symbol of Benitez’s Magpies.

Isaac Hayden

No doubt he’s the player who has enhanced his reputation the most this season. After a poor start against Cardiff he has gone from strength-to-strength.
