Who is Mo Gilligan in Soccer Aid 2020?

Mo Gilligan will be making his Soccer Aid debut when the big charity match returns on Sunday.

The 32-year-old stand up comedian will join the likes of Jason Manford, Olly Murs and Joe Wickes at Old Trafford.

Viewers will have seen Mo, who will line-up for the World XI FC squad, most recently appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox alongside his friend Babatunde Aleshe.

But his fame only came a short while ago after going viral in 2017 after spending years uploading comedy clips to social media.

Since then, Mo has hosted his own show, The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan, in 2019 and co-hosts The Big Narstie Show on Channel 4.

Soon he will join ITV as he becomes a panelist on the second series of The Masked Singer, replacing Ken Jeong.

Back to Soccer Aid, the charity match raises money for Unicef, which helps to support the organisations vital work protecting children in the UK and globally.

This year the charity will also recognised the impact coronavirus is having around the world.

As a result, this year, every £1 donated is automatically trebled thanks to the UK Government and Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance.

The match, which unfortunately will see no fans in the stadium, will air live on ITV.
