Who is Matt Richardson and why has he been added to Dancing On Ice line-up?

Matt Richardson will be making his Dancing On Ice debut this weekend after another celebrity was forced to leave the competition.

The comedian and presenter will take the place of Rufus Hound who had to quit the competition after a positive coronavirus test.

So in his place, Matt, who is the second and last reserve for the ITV skating competition, will join the show with his pro-skater partner Vicky Ogden.

The 29-year-old began his stand-up career back in 2009 before picking up momentum and performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2017 before going on a UK Tour in Autumn 2017.

Matt is a comedian and TV presenter (What's On)

Viewers may also recognise him from his presenting gig on The X Factor spin-off, The Xtra Factor.

Matt hosted the show with the late Caroline Flack back in 2013 and has regularly appeared in other panel shows over the years.

He is currently in a relationship with model Sam Rollinson after the pair got together back in 2015. They moved in together in 2017.
