Who is Marc Cucurella? The £22.7m Barcelona starlet Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham have scouted

With coronavirus suspending the Premier League season for three weeks, football fans' attentions turn to matters off the pitch.

The transfer window is just three months away from re-opening and with no action on the pitch to speak of, clubs will be focusing on the business they can get done in the summer.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all expected to be busy in the summer, with all three of London's top clubs keen to strengthen their squads.

One of the latest names to be linked with all three clubs is Spanish youngster Marc Cucurella.

So, who is Cucurella and what will he bring to London? Take a look below to find out.

Who is Marc Cucurella?

Cucurella is a 21-year-old left sided player who plays for Spanish side Getafe on loan from Barcelona.

The Spaniard can play in any position down the left side of the pitch, but has mainly been used in the left midfield role this season.

He was born in Alella, Spain and started his career in the youth teams at Espanyol before moving to Barcelona in the summer of 2012, where he has made his way through the various youth teams at the Nou Camp.

Cucurella has recently also spent time on loan at Eibar before joining Getafe on a season-long loan at the start of the 2019/20 campaign.

He has five caps for Spain's U21 team.

How has he performed this season?

The player has started every La Liga game for Getafe since completing his summer move to the club. In his 25 league appearances so far he has one goal and five assists.

The youngster also has a further six appearances in the Europa League but has failed to register a goal or an assist in the competition.

How much will he cost?

According to Cadena Cope, Getafe are looking to turn his move into a permanent deal by paying Barcelona around €16million (£13.4m) for 60% of his rights.

However, the deal will include a release clause in his contract for €25million (£22.7m), a fee which Tottenham are said to be willing to pay for Cucurella.

Arsenal are also said to be keeping an eye on the wideman.

Who else are interested?

According to the report, Tottenham and Arsenal are not the only clubs being linked with a move for the player.

Chelsea have also joined the race for his signature, with Goal reporting that the Blues have scouted him this season.

Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Monchengladbach, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are all also said to be willing to pay the fee for the 21-year-old, meaning that the trio of London clubs will have to fight off competition from around Europe if they want to bring Cucurella to the The Premier League in the summer.
