Who is Marash Kumbulla? The Albanian defender linked with Chelsea and Manchester United

Chelsea will continue to be linked with players throughout January, and another has been added to the list.

According to Calciomercato, the Blues are interested in Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla and will battle Manchester United for his signature.

But who is the centre-back?

At just 19 years of age, the youngster would certainly fill the criteria of what Frank Lampard would be looking for.

Kumbulla is a tall, quick centre-back who has just broken in the Verona side this season and impressed.

This season, the Albanian has made 12 Serie A appearances, and has also netted his first senior goal for the club.

Despite being born in Italy, the youngster plays for Albania and has featured for them throughout the youth ages, and made his senior international debut against Moldova in a Euro 2020 qualifier.

Kumbulla is reportedly wort £13million, but is also being tracked by Serie A sides Juventus and Inter Milan, which could drive the price up.

According to the Evening Standard , the Blues have ruled themselves out of enforcing the buy-back clause for Nathan Ake.

However, Lampard has four centre-backs right now, so could be willing to keep hold of them if possible.
