Maja Stark may have only turned professional in 2021 but the young Swede has already made a name for herself as one of the most exciting prospects in women’s professional golf.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed a successful few years, winning a string of professional tournaments, including her maiden Major title at the 2025 US Women's Open.
Along the way, Stark has had a number of different caddies, including Emma Whitaker, LPGA Tour winner Sophie Gustafson and Hadley Trenfield, although currently she is with Jeff Brighton.
Brighton is from Ayrshire in Scotland and, per the Professional Ladies Tour Caddies Association, he began caddying in 2015 at the AIG Women's Open when, in his words, he "got a lucky break as a local caddie." He was offered the chance to caddie full time, so he left his corporate career behind to pursue it.

Aside from his jobs away from golf, including working in sales and on cruise ships, Brighton also has a background as a stand-up comedian. He has brought that humor with him to life as a caddie, and it's made him a popular figure. In a video published by Skratch in 2021, Mel Reid said of Brighton: "Jeff's probably one of the most popular guys on tour." She added dryly: "I hate to give him credit for this but he's actually really funny."

Brighton had previously worked with Caroline Hedwall, Christina Kim, Jin Young Ko, Bronte Law and Colin Montgomerie, and he was alongside Stark as she closed out victory in the US Women's Open at Erin Hills. His reward? A probable $240,000 payout from Stark's $2.4m in prize money.
