Luke McCormick is the latest Chelsea youngster to head out on loan as he will spend the 2019/20 campaign with League One side Shrewsbury Town.
The 20-year-old has also put pen-to-paper on a new three-year deal with the Blues, which will see him in west London until 2022.
But who is the youngster taking his first steps into senior football?
McCormick joined the club as a six-year old and began his scholarship with the Blues in 2015, starting his time with the Blues as a striker.
However, in the 2015/16 season he moved into a more central midfield position as he became a youth team regular and featuring in the U21s.
He played even more the following season as the U18s clinched a treble, including the FA Youth Cup, before moving more full-time into the development squad.
McCormick played regular in PL2 and in the Checkatrade Trophy, while also being captain for the U19s in the UEFA Youth League and for the Development Squad.
A box-to-box midfielder, who can also play a little further forward, McCormick missed a lot of last season after an injury that kept him on the sidelines for months.
However, he is hoping now that he will be able to have a productive campaign for Shrewsbury in his first stint in the Football League.
"I'm really happy to be here first and foremost and it was good to get the deal done," McCormick told Shrewsweb.
"With this being my first loan it's a really good club to come to and I know about the history.
"I'm really looking forward to being here and getting started.
"I'm buzzing and I can't wait to get the chance to step out on the pitch.
"The pitch looks brilliant, it looks huge and the stadium and facilities are modern and the staff are really friendly."
