Singer Lesley Roy will be looking to reclaim Ireland's Eurovision crown for a record eight-time when the Balbriggan-native appears in Tuesday's semi-final.
While Roy is performing on stage in Rotterdam, no doubt her biggest fan will be her wife, Lauren, who's been by her side for the last 13 years, 10 of which they've been married.
While they usually live in New York, Lesley and Lauren decided to move to Ireland in the last 12 months to help her in preparation for Eurovision 2021.
The 34-year-old might not be a household name to the Irish public but she's been in the music industry for well over a decade building up to this moment.
Being from a musical family has certainly helped in her quest.
Lesley's mother was a regular performer in bands and got the star her first guitar before she reached her teens. From then on, music would play a central part in Lesley's life.
By the time she was a teenager, she was signed to a small indie label while still in school. That deal didn't work out in the end but that did not deter Roy.
At 17, she signed for US label, Jive Records, which was the home of major artists like Britney Spears and The Backstreet Boys.
Her debut album under the Jive Records label, Unbeautiful, released in 2008. However, to her shock, she found her record deal cancelled and to this day still doesn't know why.
With last year's Eurovision cancelled due to coronavirus, Roy has had the unusual instance of being able to prepare for the show for over a year.
Tonight, Lesley will perform the song 'Maps' which she wrote and released earlier this year on Spotify as well as a music video on Youtube.
Roy thinks 'Maps' is a light and fun song and should hopefully get people off the couch to enjoy it. It's set to last just around three minutes.
The first semi-final which Lesley features in will air Tuesday on RTE 2 from 8pm.
