Who is leading the Giro d'Italia 2025 after stage 6?

Mads Pedersen in pink jersey on podium.

There were almost no changes of note in any of the classifications on stage six. A huge crash caused chaos during the stage and wiped out several high profile riders. Jai Hindley (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) was forced to abandon with a suspected concussion. Due to the severity of the pile up, the race organiser [RCS] neutralised all of the classifications at the time of the crash.

Meanwhile Kaden Groves (Alpecein-Deceuninck) won the reduced bunch sprint for the stage win. The Australian launched a powerful dig for the line which nobody could match. Milan Fretin (Cofidis) took second place ahead of Paul Magnier (Soudal Quick-Step) in third.

Pedersen remains in the overall race lead after winning for a third time in this Giro d'Italia on stage five. Pedersen also kept hold of the points jersey, extending his lead, while his teammate Mathias Vacek in the white young rider's jersey. Lorenzo Fortunato (XDS Astana), meanwhile, remains in the lead in the mountains competition.
