Who is Lady Leshurr on Dancing on Ice? Rapper to skate into action for new series

The wait is over and Dancing on Ice is back for 2021 on Sunday night.

Just like it’s BBC counterpart Strictly, the new series of the ITV show will be a rather different one due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Big changes will include the necessity for couples to form separate bubbles and glass screens being installed between the judges on the panel.

The Dancing on Ice lineup for this time round has been talked up as one of the e at ever by the show’s pros and fans and among the celebs taking to the rink for week 1 is Lady Leshurr.

She will join other skating stars like Rebekah Vardy and Jason Donovan in the first live show. The lineup for this Sunday's Dancing on Ice launch episode was forced to be rejigged at the last minute following the horror injury to pro Yebin Mok in training.

A horror accident in training saw her stabbed in the leg by a skating blade by celeb partner Graham Bell.

She was taken to hospital and is now recovering. Graham was meant to compete in week 1 but has now swapped places with Rufus.

Who is Lady Leshurr?

Lady Leshurr is a British rapper, singer/songwriter and producer and will team up with skating pro Brendyn Hadfield for Dancing on Ice.

She is 32 and is best known for her body of work called Queen’s Speech which which got her noticed in a big way in 2016, the same year she won a MOBO Award for Best Female Act.

Lady Leshurr reacted to the announcement she was taking part by taking to Instagram to write: "Guess Who’s Skating Around The Truth & Managed To Get On Dancing On Ice?

"Who Am I Kidding. I Can’t Skate To Save My Life. So This Will Be Interesting."
