Who is Kem Cetinay in Soccer Aid 2019 and why is he in the world team?

One of the celebs lining up for the World XI at this year's Soccer Aid is reality TV star Kem Cetinay.

The 23-year-old is best known for appearing on Love Island back in 2017 - where he won the series alongside Amber Davies.

The pair remained together throughout 2017, before splitting in December of that year.

Following his stint on the reality dating show he starred, with fellow islander Chris Hughes, on spin-off program Chris & Kem: Straight Outta Love Island.

The ITV show followed the pair as they wrote a rap song to perform at a Ministry of Sound club night.

They later released a single, Little Bit of Leave It, which reached 15 in the UK charts.

Last year Kem appeared in Dancing on Ice and finished in fourth place with partner Alex Murphy.

He is now backstage host on the show.

Kem also co-hosts Love Island podcast The Morning After.

Although born in Essex, Kem is representing the World XI due to his Turkish Cypriot roots.

He is a keen footballer and has played the game since he was four years old. His mum said he even used to sleep in his football boots.

Writing on Instagram ahead of the match, Kem said: "Aside from sharing a pitch with my childhood hero’s I really am so proud to be playing in @socceraid for @unicef_uk for such a amazing cause.

"Tickets for the match are in my bio excited to see you all on the 16th June!"

This year's Soccer Aid takes place at Chelsea FC's Stamford Bridge, after previously being held at Manchester United's Old Trafford .

Soccer Aid co-founder Robbie Williams will be back alongside Mo Farah, former footballer Jamie Redknapp, TOWIE star Mark Wright, Good Morning Britain presenter Ben Shephard, fitness coach Joe Wicks and F2 Football Freestyler Jeremy Lynch.

The charity match raises money for Unicef, which helps to support the organisations vital work protecting children in the UK and globally.
