Who is Katie Taylor's next opponent? Meet Kazakhstan's Firuza Sharipova

Katie Taylor once again puts all her belts on the line in December when she faces Kazakhstan's Firuza Sharipova.

The undisputed lightweight queen was last seen in action against American Jennifer Han in September, when she took her professional record to 19-0 with an impressive win.

Taylor will defend her defend her WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO and Ring Magazine belts againt Sharipova at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool on Saturday December 11.

Victory here could secure a massive showdown with Amanda Serrano in 2022 for the Bray fighter, but she won't be thinking of that until after this bout.

What age is she?

Sharipova is 27, eight years younger than Taylor.

Where is she from?

She comes from the city of Taraz, which is located in southern Kazakhstan and is one of the oldest cities in the country.

Record

Her record stands at 14-1, with her only defeat coming via a shock four-round points loss on debut.

Of her 14 wins, eight have come via knockout, including four of her last five.

Where has she fought?

Sharipova has only fought outside Russia or her native Kazakhstan once and that was for her second pro bout in 2016 when she defeated Angela Cannizzaro in Spain.

Has she won any belts?

She has picked up titles at Super-Featherweight, Lightweight and Super-Lightweight since joining the professional ranks in May 2016, including the IBA world super-lightweight title, the international IBO super-featherweight title and the WBC silver super-featherweight belt.
