Who is Kate Harrington? All you need to know about the Racing TV presenter and daughter of Jessica Harrington

Kate Harrington has impressed Racing TV viewers as she juggles her broadcasting role with the station with her duties as an assistant trainer to her mother Jessica.

Harrington has experienced racing from all angles and perspectives over the years, as a talented amateur jockey, as an assistant with her mother's star-studded stable and in front of the cameras in her TV role.

Kate provides expert inside knowledge, having grown up with horses, representing Ireland in three-day eventing at pony, junior and young rider levels.

Harrington enjoyed success as an amateur rider. She rode a winner on her first ride when taking the charity race at the Punchestown Festival in 2007 on the then 13-year-old Moscow Flyer

In 2009, she partnered Imperial Cascade to win the Goffs Land Rover Bumper at the Punchestown Festival and won on Modem in the Connacht Hotel Amateur Riders Handicap at the Galway Festival in 2015.

She spent two years working for Aidan O'Brien from 2012 to 2014 before returning home to assist mother Jessica and sister Emma with their training operation after the death of her father Johnny in April 2014.

Harrington has not raced as a jockey since 2018 and in 2019 became part of Racing TV's Irish team of reporters and analysts in 2019.
