Manchester United forward Joe Hugill is set for a big pre season having impressed playing for the club's U21 side.
He will now be hoping to make an impression on Erik ten Hag. The forward spent the majority of his youth career at his boyhood club Sunderland and was considered one of their most promising youngsters. He arrived with some strong performances in his early days at United, with a four goal haul against Liverpool in January 2021 a particular highlight.
Now aged 19, his 6'2" frame sets him apart as a target man, with the physical presence required to thrive amid the physicality of English football. He spent the latter part of last season on loan with Altrincham, with just a single goal playing for the National League side.

He has, however, been far more prolific for United's youth sides, scoring 11 goals in 12 appearances for United's U21 side during the 2022/23 season. With United's current striking situation, there is a chance for young players to push on and impress this pre-season - with just Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial currently in the role. Hugill has been called up to first team training ahead of a series of pre season friendlies.
