Who is Jeremy Clarkson's daughter Emily?

Jeremy Clarkson hit the headlines on Friday (December 16) after making controversial comments about the Duchess of Sussex. Writing in The Sun, the former Top Gear host said he “hates” Meghan Markle on a “cellular level,” and claims he dreams of the day she is “made to parade naked through the streets” while people throw “excrement” at her.

His comments have been widly condemned, with many celebrities, politicians and members of the public slamming the presenter. Speaking to broadcasters on Monday, Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon – who was also referenced in Clarkson’s column alongside serial killer Rose West – described the comments as “deeply misogynist and just downright awful and horrible.”

Also speaking out against Clarkson is his own daughter Emily. Posting a statement to her Instagram stories on Sunday (December 18), she said: “My views are and have always been clear when it comes to misogyny, bullying and the treatment of women by the media.

“I want to make it very clear that I stand against everything that my dad wrote about Meghan Markle and I remain standing in support of those that are targeted with online hatred.”

She has written two books, Dear Pretty Normal Me and Can I Speak to Someone in Charge?, the latter of which “addresses all manner of subjects and absurdities that impact on our modern-day lives” and tackles “the ridiculous ideologies and the remarkable expectations that shape women’s lives”.

She also founded the Have A Gos (HAGS), a support group that encourages women to take part in “intimidating sporting events” including marathons and Ironman competitions. She married Dublin-born publicist Alex Andrew in May this year, with the couple currently expecting their first child.
