Who is Javier Aguirre? Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp slams Egypt coach for talking up Mohamed Salah transfer

Jurgen Klopp has slammed Egypt boss Javier Aguirre over his claim that Mohamed Salah may need to leave Liverpool soon in search of silverware.

The Mexican recently said of his star man: “It may be better for him to leave in a season or two if Liverpool doesn’t win any titles.”

Klopp cut a bemused figure when asked about the comments at his press conference to preview Saturday’s trip to Watford, insisting he did not understand why Aguirre would make them.

He also joked that the Pharaohs boss could be the one looking for a new employer if he fails to help Egypt win a trophy in the next two years.

He said: “Who is the manager? Aguirre? Okay. I’ll try to be nice, eh?

“I would say if HE doesn’t win a title in the next couple of years then he has to move to another club or country, for sure. I don’t know why people say things like that. It’s not that important.

“It’s the world of media, you find it somewhere in an Egyptian newspaper or somewhere. Then the next one writes that I was confronted with it.

“Obviously I don’t agree with it, but it’s a free world and he can say whatever he wants. That’s good actually.

“I shouldn’t have made any comment on it, so maybe we can delete what I said a minute ago!”
