Who is James Viscount Severn at the Queen's funeral?

James Viscount Severn is the son of Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, the Queen's youngest child, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

Viscount Servern is the Queen's youngest grandchild, and nephew to King Charles III. He is currently 14th in line for the throne, followed by his sister The Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor.

He was born in 2007, at Frimley Park Hospital in Frimley, Surrey, now aged 14. It's not surprising many won't recognise him, as he hasn't been present at many official Royal appearances.

In April 2015, James and his sister, Lady Louise, participated in their first overseas engagement by accompanying their parents on a trip to South Africa. In September 2020, James participated in the Great British Beach Clean with his family at Southsea Beach in Hampshire, in support of the Marine Conservation Society.

In March 2022 James attended the memorial service for Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. In June 2022 he attended the Platinum Jubilee National Service of Thanksgiving and the Platinum Party at the Palace.

James' father, Prince Edward Earl of Wessex, has been part of most Royal Family events to honour the Queen. He joined his other siblings, including his brother King Charles III in the procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Palace for the Queen's lying-in-state.

Prince Edward was also present at the Vigil of Princes on Friday evening with his other siblings. And on Saturday James took part in the Vigil of the Princes alongside his cousins - including Princes William and Harry.
