Who is Isaac Lihadji? The French wonderkid linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham

January is here, which means that clubs are now able to make their moves in the transfer window.

Both Arsenal and Tottenham will be looking to add to their squad over the next few weeks after both clubs endured disappointing starts to the Premier League season, leading to both clubs changing head coaches.

With both Mikel Arteta and Jose Mourinho in place both will be wanting to add their own stamp on their squads as the second half of the league season gets underway.

There has already been a number of different names linked to the clubs, but neither is yet to complete a move.

Mikel Arteta on being angry with Arsenal

One of the latest names to be linked is Isaac Lihadji, who is reportedly interesting both Spurs and the Gunners during the window, with Foot Mercato reporting that they have both made contact with the player's representatives.

So, who is Lihadji, and what would he add to either Spurs or Arsenal?

Who is Isaac Lihadji?

Lihadji is a 17-year-old right winger who plays for French side Marseille.

He was born in the city and came up through the club's youth team.

He made his professional debut in September, playing the final 12 minutes of the 0-0 draw with Dijon in Ligue 1.

Lihadji has 10 caps for France U18s, scoring four goals.

How has he performed this season?

Having made his first-team debut in September, Lihadji has gone onto play just once more for Marseille this season, coming on as a substitute in the final 11 minutes of the 3-1 loss against Amiens at the start of October.

The teenager has been an unused substitute a further four times, but has not made the squad since the end of November.

What is his situation?

The youngster has been locked in transfer talks with his current club for sometime, with his current deal running out at the end of the 2019/20 season.

But, according to French radio station RMC, the Ligue 1 club have now pulled out of talks meaning that he will be available for nothing in the summer.

After coming close to a deal back in October, the two parties have reached an impasse in negotiations, with the demands of the player's entourage holding up a deal.

Who else are interested?

There are a number of clubs said to be keeping an eye on developments on Lihadji's future, meaning that Tottenham and Arsenal will have to fight off competition should they wish to complete a deal.

Bayern Munch, Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona, Juventus, Valencia and Lille are among the clubs to also be linked to the teenager.
