Spanish crime drama Money Heist is about to return to Netflix for the first half of the fifth and final season.
The series, which has had a burgeoning fan-base since it was originally released in 2017, will be concluding in two parts, the first of which will air in September ahead of the release of the second half in December.
Season 5 picks up right where season 4 left off, in the midst of the gang’s heist in the Bank of Spain, but viewers can expect a few surprises, including some brand new cast members.

Who is in the Money Heist season 5 cast?
Álvaro Mortes will be reprising his role as the professor in Money Heist season 5. The actor will be joined by co-stars Itziar Ituño, Ursula Corbero, Miguel Herrán, Jaime Lorente, Darko Perić, Esther Acebo and Rodrigo de la Serna who will be playing the characters of Lisbon, Tokyo, Rio, Denver, Helsinki, Stockholm and Palermo respectively.
Inspector Alicia Sierra will be portrayed by Najwa Nimri and police investigator Ángel Rubio wil be played by Fernando Soto.
Enrique Arce is back for his role as ex-director of the Royal Mint of Spain, Arturo Román alongside José Manuel Poga who plays César Gandía, head security at the Royal Bank of Spain.
Adding to the cast is Miguel Ángel Silvestre, who will be joining the fifth season of Money Heist as Tokyo’s former lover, René. Netflix viewers will likely recognise Silvestre as Lito Rodriguez from Sense8 and Franklin Jurado from Narcos. We can’t wait to see what he brings to the Money Heist world.
