Who is in the Elvis cast as new movie comes out in cinemas?

A film based on the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley hits cinemas in the UK today. The film follows in the footsteps of successful music biopics Rocketman and Bohemian Rhapsody.

The film has a runtime of over two hours and follows the singer from his early years growing up in Mississippi to how he reached stardom across Memphis, Tennessee and onto the stages of Las Vegas. It will also reflect on Elvis’ complex relationship with manager Colonel Tom Parker.

The highly anticipated film is available in UK cinemas from today (June 24) and has received positive critic reviews with a glowing response to its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, during which the film received a 12-minute standing ovation. Here’s everything you need to know about the cast.

Who is in the Elvis cast?

Austin Butler

Austin Butler portrays Elvis. The American actor began his career on television with Hannah Montana, The Carrie Diaries and Birth. Viewers may also recognise Butler from the 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood as Tex Watson.

Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks portrays Elvis’ manager Colonel Tom Parker. Hanks is one of the most popular and recognizable film stars in the world. He is known for his comedic and dramatic roles in Forrest Gump, Castaway and The Green Mile.

Dacre Montgomery

Dacre Montgomery plays Steve Binder, a producer and director. Montgomery is known for his roles as Billy Hargrove in the Netflix series Stranger Things and as Jason Scott in the 2017 film Power Rangers.

Gary Clark Jr.

Gary Clark Jr. plays Arthur ‘Big Boy’ Crudup. The American musician is known for his fusion of blues, rock and soul music with elements of hip hop.

Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla

Olivia DeJonge plays Priscilla, Elvis’ wife. DeJonge is known for playing Tara Swift/Shaneen Quigg in ABC1's Hiding, Becca in the film The Visit, and Elle in Netflix's The Society.
