Who is in the Cabinet and Shadow Cabinet?

Grant Shapps has been made Defence Secretary in a mini reshuffle of the Cabinet after Ben Wallace resigned.

Claire Coutinho has been rewarded for her support of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and has replaced Mr Shapps as Energy Secretary to become the youngest member of the top table at 38.

Labour has not made any changes to its Shadow Cabinet and both parties may now be under time pressure if they are to make further tweaks to their lineup before the next general election.

"I am looking forward to working with the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who defend our nation’s security,” said Mr Shapps, adding his thanks to Mr Wallace who has left for reported family reasons.
