Who is Hosam Aiesh? The Sweden international linked with Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Swedish forward Hosam Aiesh.

The 24-year-old, who is an international teammate of Alexander Milosevic, could cost the Reds in the region of 2 million euros according to SportWitness, who have published the report.

But who is he, and is he likely to make the switch to the City Ground?

His career so far

Born in Gothenburg and of Palestinian descent, the right-sided winger, who can play as a striker, started his carer with Allsvenskan side Hacken.

But after failing to make a single start during his debut two seasons, and after a short loan spell with lower league Varbergs, he left to join Ostersunds on a free transfer.

Since then his performances have seen him attract plenty of attention after he was awarded the number ten shirt and helped the club to a 2017 Swedish Cup win.

In 2017/18, he was the Allsvenskan's best assist provider under now Brighton boss Graham Potter as the club finished fifth in the top-flight.

And back in January he caught the eye of Sweden boss Janne Andersson who handed him his first cap, a 1-0 defeat to Finalnd during which Milosevic captained the side.

Europa League hero

One of the forwards career highlights so far came against Arsenal at the Emirates stadium.

The Gunners had already given themselves a healthy 3-0 lead in the first leg of their Europa League meeting, but Aiesh got nerves jangling in North London when he gave Ostersunds the lead on the night.

He broke away from the Arsenal defence before opening his body and sliding his effort under David Ospina and into the far corner.

Potter's side would go on to win 2-1, one of the most memorable and treasured victories in the club's history, but bowed out 4-2 on aggregate.

Who else is interested?

Leeds United have been linked with Aiesh for longer than anyone, with reports claiming that they are set to reignite their interest this summer having sent scouts to watch him.

But Reading have also surfaced as an interested party.

The Royals reportedly see Aiesh as a possible replacement for Modou Barrow who looks set to leave the Madejski Stadium this summer.
