Who is Hervin Ongenda? Nottingham Forest 'target' profiled

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for French forward Hervin Ongenda.

The Paris-born forward, who climbed the ranks at Paris Saint-Germain, currently plays in the Romanian Premier League for Botasani.

But with his contract set to expire next summer there are said to be a number of clubs circling - including Sabri Lamouchi's men.

So who is he? And what are the chances of him moving to the City Ground?

Who is he?

The 24-year-old started his career in France's capital with PSG, climbing the youth ranks before making his professional debut as a teenager in 2013 against Montepellier.

That season he made six appearances for the Parc de Princes club, as they stormed to a French title and cup triumph.

The following season he was loaned to Bastia, turning out for both their Ligue 1 first team and their B team, but failed to score a goal in 19 appearances and after a brief return to his parent club he was moved on to PEC Zwolle for a fee of 300,000 euros.

But he only made three appearances for the Dutch club and did not find a new side after his release for more than a year, before being signed by Real Murcia following a successful trial.

The second division Spanish side were not rewarded for their gamble though, and after just two appearances he was on the move again, this time to FC Botasani in Romania.

Since making his move to the Stadionul Municipal, he has scored four goals in 26 appearances.

How does he play?

Despite being known as a number 10, or a second striker, Ongenda has played most of his career out wide on the left.

The 5ft 7ins forward is not physically strong, but is at his best when running at defenders with the ball at his feet.

Since joining Botosani he has featured predominantly behind the striker and in attacking-midfield, chipping in with more assists than he has goals.

Who else is in for him?

With his contract set to expire in 12 months time, there are a number of clubs said to be monitoring the forward.

Italian sides Chievo Verona and Brescia have been linked, along with Ghent and Hull City, according to reports in France .
