Who is Harvey White? The Tottenham youngster Jose Mourinho has named on the bench vs Bournemouth

Tottenham academy ace Harvey White has been named on the bench for this evening's game against Bournemouth.

The return of Premier League football last month saw a couple of changes to the rules for the remaining games of the season, with the number of players named on the bench one of them.

Managers can now select an additional two substitutes for Premier League matches and make a total of five changes in a game if needed.

The rule change has certainly benefited White as Jose Mourinho has decided to include him in his 20-man matchday squad at the Vitality Stadium.

But who is the Tottenham youngster?

Well, some fans may recognise him from the recent training photos from Hotspur Way as he has regularly trained with the first team.

Clearly doing enough to impress his boss, as Mourinho stated in his press conference for the Bournemouth match that he wants him in his first-team squad next season, the talented midfielder was also named on the bench for recent draw against Manchester United but was an unused substitute.

Featuring regularly for the Lilywhites in Premier League 2 and the UEFA Youth League over the past couple of seasons, the 18-year-old was actually included on Tottenham's pre-season tour of Asia by Mauricio Pochettino last summer.

White made his senior debut for the side as a left-back and featured in the friendlies against Juventus and Manchester United.

While he has filled in there at times during his 29 appearances this season for the U23s, U19s and U18s, he is mainly used in midfield.

White, who has seven goals and four assists to his name this term, can play in a deeper role or help link up with the attacking players and his set-piece ability catches the eye.

His corners are consistently dangerous and he's always a threat from free-kicks, having scored with some top drawer strikes in recent years.

His set-piece capabilities can also be seen by the fact that he scored the first penalty at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the test event that saw the youngsters beat Southampton 3-1 in March 2019.

As Mourinho has already handed appearances to fellow academy graduates Japhet Tanganga and Malachi Fagan-Walcott so far in 2020, we may well see White feature at some point before the season draws to a close.
