Phoebe Waller-Bridge is known across both sides of the Atlantic for her always witty and often dark TV shows.
The London born star is best known for her BBC comedy-drama Fleabag which ended this year. The show, which she created and stars in, follows Waller-Bridge playing a woman known only as Fleabag as she navigates through life in London.
Waller-Bridge, 34, also wrote and produced the hugely successful TV series Killing Eve, which is based on novels by the author Luke Jennings.
The show stars Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, and is popular in both the UK and the US.
Most recently, Waller-Bridge co-wrote the screenplay for the latest James Bond film, No Time To Do.
The Bafta-winning celebrity also star scooped up Emmys on Sunday for best leading comedy actress, best comedy series and best comedy writing.
The quirky sitcom Fleabag swept all before it at the biggest night in US television, winning ahead of well-fancied favourites including HBO's Veep and Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs Maisel.
Accepting the gong for outstanding comedy series, Waller-Bridge, 34, said: "This is just getting ridiculous. Fleabag started as a one-woman show at the Edinburgh festival in 2014. The journey has been absolutely mental to get here. I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who's been involved."
She first began her acting debut in 2009, with a play in London, and later appeared in a number of TV shows including Bad Education and Broadchurch.
