Who is debutant Liverpool striker Liam Millar? The Canada international leading the line against Shrewsbury

Liam Millar will make his first Liverpool appearance in the FA Cup fourth round replay against Shrewsbury Town this evening.

The 20-year-old forward is one of three debutants in the Reds starting line-up along with Adam Lewis and Jake Cain.

Millar, though, is no overnight sensation at Anfield having moved to the club on a free transfer from Fulham in July 2016.

He scored on his debut for the under-18 side and then prospered under Steven Gerrard the following season before making the step up to the U23s later that campaign.

Millar, who can play both down the centre and on the left, joined Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock on a six-month loan in January 2019, contributing a goal and an assist in 14 appearances.

He joined Kilmarnock on a season-long loan in the summer, and scored once and had two assists in 23 outings before being recalled by the Reds last month.

Millar was born in Toronto and moved to England aged 13 to join Fulham.

He made his debut for Canada’s international team in March 2018 aged 18 having already appeared for the U20 and U23 sides, and now has eight full caps for his country.
