This summer, billionaire Dreamworks founder David Geffen has welcomed a slew of A-listers and billionaires on his mega-yacht, Rising Sun.
Geffen gave Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom a lift to Google Camp and then hosted Oprah and Gayle King. After visiting Google Camp, he departed for Mallorca while documenting his travels on social media.
A new Instagram photo confirms that his vacation group now includes the world’s richest man, Jeff Bezos, and his new girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez. He captioned the grinning group shot, “Having a great time in the Balearics.” His previous picture, captioned “Fun in Mallorca,” features the group smiling against a sunset.
Also onboard is Jared Kushner’s brother, Joshua Kushner, and his wife, supermodel Karlie Kloss. Kushner is seen by some as a controversial figure, as his brother Jared Kushner is a key figure in the Trump administration and is married to Ivanka Trump. One comment reads, "Please tell us you tied Joshua Kushner to the anchor and threw him overboard."
Former Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein, The Bail Project attorney Lydia Gray Kives, and oil heir Mikey Hess, who is engaged to fashion designer Misha Nonoo, are also featured in the Instagram photo. Nonoo is one of the people rumored to have introduced Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Geffen’s Instagram bio simply reads “google me.” If you don't have the time for research, he famously founded Geffen Records in 1980 and then DreamWorks Pictures in 1994.
Geffen Records has released music from Elton John, Cher, Aerosmith, and more.
His luxury mega-yacht, Rising Sun, is 453 feet. Orlando Bloom recently posed with the yacht on Instagram in Mallorca after joining Geffen on the vessel with Katy Perry.
According to Bloomberg, the group Geffen is currently travelling with has a net worth in excess of $120 billion. Geffen's net worth alone is said to be $8.3 billion.
Last summer, he set sail with Jerry Seinfeld, Tom Hanks and Bradley Cooper.
