Steven Gerrard is renowned for getting his transfer business done early since arriving at Rangers.
The formula of bringing players through the door in January, to get them accustomed to their new surroundings, or signing players early in the summer months has worked a treat for the Ibrox boss.
And this year is no different with Scott Wright and Jack Simpson already on the books, while a number of other players are rumoured to be close to agreeing a Rangers deal, like Fashion Sakala from Oostende.
One other name that has been floated is Danilho Doekhi as Gerrard looks to bring in defensive reinforcements.
He's a bit of an unknown quantity so we decided to give you the lowdown on the reported Light Blues target.
Who is Danilho Doekhi?
Doekhi is a 22-year-old centre back who plays for Vitesse.
He was transferred to the Ajax youth program in July 2016, but he is a product of the youth system for Dutch side Excelsior.
He only made one appearance for Excelsior before he joined Jong Ajax in 2016 in the Netherlands' second tier.
Doekhi made 35 appearances for Ajax's B side before sealing a move to Vitesse in 2018.
He has been a standout performer in the Eredivisie since arriving, but especially this season where he has been a part of the side with the second-best defensive record in Holland's top flight.
Defensively, Vitesse are a top ten side in Europe with 28 goals conceded this term, an impressive feat given their budget.
In Germany, England, France, Italy, Spain and Holland, only Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, RB Leipzig, Sevilla, Man City, Ajax, Lille and PSG have conceded fewer goals in their respective leagues.
Doekhi was also involved in the Netherlands squad for the recent Under-21 European Championships.
What's his contract situation?
He has one year left on his deal which means he could be captured on a cut-price fee.
It doesn't seem like he will sign an extension with Vitesse which means they will need to cash in on him this summer or risk letting him enter the final year of his contract, where he would be free to speak to other clubs in January.
Are other teams interested?
Doekhi's favourable contract situation means plenty of clubs are eyeing up the rising star.
Fulham, Newcastle and Premier League newcomers Norwich City are said to be keen on the stopper.
What's the latest with Rangers?
Rangers are set to offer Doekhi a three-year contract, according to reports in the Netherlands.
Dutch paper De Gelderlander claims the Light Blues want to take him to Glasgow and are favourites to get his signature if he is allowed to move in the summer.
